Every person has a choice whether to take responsibility for their own life, or to let someone else take that responsibility for them. There are risks associated with both, and one of the risks associated with the second choice is the problem you outlined in your poem. If you are not accustomed to the risks associated with taking responsibility you are much more easily controlled by fear.
Ah fear…the weapon of choice. I’m learning that trust in God will always out weigh fear. I’ve had to learn to deliberately take the time to think for myself as my default was so ingrained to fear. Fear or love can control us. Our choice.
