The world we see around us is largely a product of our own creation. We are creators.

Early in the Bible it says that God rested at a certain point in the early “days” of the creation our planet. This is a curious statement, but it begins to make sense when you realize that this is a metaphor for the point at which human beings were granted responsibility for the pattern of ongoing creation for this planet.

We are creators, and creative activity follows a predictable pattern. Thus, the emphasis on cycles and seasons in the ancient literature. The basic pattern of manifestation is:

Spirit > Feeling > Thought > Word > Action

Everyone orients in a certain pattern of spirit, always. No one can escape this basic reality of being. The basic patterns of spirit to which you can orient are trilateral. On the one hand, we have love, truth, and life. The absence of those three spirits is the basis of the other triangle of spirits: hate, lies, and death.

You are designed to orient in one or the other. No one can serve two masters, as it was once put. Regardless of its provenance (God or Kindlier Nature), mankind is endowed with free will. Free will, fundamentally speaking, is the ability to choose between these two patterns of spirit. That choice determines our orientation in Spirit.

Your feeling realm aka your “heart” interpenetrates the three levels of you, that is, your body, mind, and capacity for spiritual expression. Your heart is an antenna of sorts that allows you to perceive that which is beyond you, be it in the physical, mental, or spiritual plane. This antenna―your feeling realm― receives all signals indiscriminately. As such, you will continue to feel ill/unclean spirits, even if you are functioning optimally.

Your mind allows you to sort through the feelings received by your heart. Your mind and heart are designed to work together. If you’ve ever been in a situation where your mind was telling you one thing and your heart another, you quickly realize how paralytic this fundamental discord can be. Some people are more “heart” people while others are more “mind,” but all people have both and require both to function.

One of your mind’s core functions is to assign weight to your feelings. Your mind’s ability to do this is biased by your central pattern of orientation in spirit. You will find it easier to perform this emotional triage to the degree that you are centered in love, truth, and life. When your orientation is mixed, you will find it challenging to bring order out of chaos, emotionally-speaking. You needn’t give weight to every feeling that you have; just because you feel it doesn’t necessarily mean it is valid, true, or relevant. The point with feelings is that you have a choice and the pattern of that choice shapes goes a long way to determining whether you will overcome or be overcome.

If the responsibility for assigning weight to your inner feelings is the negative (-) pole of your capacity of mind, then the words and actions you choose are the positive (+), radiant pole. As you can see, the basic pattern of manifestation is a sequence where each stage conditions the next. Your underlying orientation shapes your motivation and your motivation determines your expression. As it was said, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.”

Used properly, your body, mind, and capacity for spiritual expression bring order internally and this, in turn, brings an ordering, healing, uplifting force to bear on the chaotic world around you. Creation always occurs from the inside, out. The outer, visible “earth” of your experience takes shape on the pattern of the inner, invisible “heaven.”

This is overcoming the world; this is dominion.
