“We don’t see things as they are, we see them as we are.” – Anaïs Nin
If self-consciousness distorts the perception of reality, then unselfconsciousness removes the lenses which color perception. The moment you step into a situation with a concern for self, an interest in personal gain, you lose touch with reality and begin seeing the world around you as you are and not as it is.
There is a world of difference between how we feel and how we are.
When governed by what we have at our disposal (feelings) our identity is out of place and we are powerless.
When as we are, in our rightful place, our feeling capacity is available for right-use, service, and the expression of power.
Thanks for the powerful reminder, today, I will remain, as I am.

I think the lens we look at the world through is the heart. Focus the heart and everything will take on the hue you’ve chosen.

I’ve always thought that the axiom, we make our lives then our lives make us, was correct. It’s true we can’t control everything that happens in our lives but we can control how it will affect us.

Thank you for providing a way through the veil of unreality. And into the reality of what actually is. The consideration of unselfconscious is a worthy one for this to occur.
