Art and Science, a poem by Gregg Hake
Art and science when aligned give form to hidden truth,
But once divorced or set at odds they lose the bloom of youth.
So why do men insist upon a fight to prove their worth,
For when allied they do much more than create hell on earth.
It is amazing to me how much disdain there are for the proponents of art over science or vise-versa. The truth is, these two disciplines have more in common than they have differences, and that becomes truer the closer you get to the “pure” form.
People seem to love to find that thing they feel an affinity for, and then try to disparage anything that seems to threaten that worldview. It is not just art and science that would do better if they came together rather than fought for supremacy…

Now that’s an interesting question. Why are there people that only believe what they can see and some that still can’t believe something when they can see it? I can’t look around me or read history without a profound feeling of appreciation for the Omnipotent yet many think man as the greatest orchestrator of all.
