The Courtyard by Gregg Hake
Enclosed by walls of Paris stone
Hewn from Oisian quarries.
I sit and ponder all I’ve sown
My failures and my glories.
Guarded from outer din,
I look up to the sky.
I open up my heart and then
Continue asking “why?”
Why must there be walls around
That which precious is?
Can there not on earth be found
A land that sacred ’tis?
Parables, symbols and priesthoods, all attempts to let some sacredness exist in a world where it’s continually evident it’s not wanted. I realize that there is so much more available to man’s existence then what is apparent to most and your poem provides some guidance to increased understanding. I have to surrender judgement, be willing to humbly and repentantly review my life and most of all open that communication to something still not fully understood. Trust in the wisdom and power of the Omnipotent is at the forefront of my feelings and thoughts as I continue to press on. Thanks, Gregg your posts make a difference in my life as do your gentle reader’s replies.

Your words are expansive. Let there be such a vision and expression through each of us for it to be so.

I am so thankful for the sacred tone you sound Gregg, and for the ears to hear it.

Ultimately, no value without sacredness, and no sacredness without protection and depth of love for what is real and lovely. So much is in our hands!

Your poetry is so moving. I feel like I’m eavesdropping on you while you’re praying. Thank you for sharing some of your innermost thoughts. My reciprocation is living my life with a particular intention to earn these gifts.
