The Garden of Life by Gregg Hake
A new acquaintance: a germinated seed,
A recent friend: a delicate shoot.
A bitter enemy: a choking weed,
A tight-knit family: a webbed root.
A lifelong confidant: a perennial flower,
A restored relationship: a spring shower.
Very nice poem! It is an excellent illustration of how deeply our relationships affect our life, and how interconnected we all are.

So many different varieties in a garden, each requiring specialized care and nourishment, each fulfilling varied purposes. The sensitive skills of a gardener are the skills of living.
