Ideology does not liberate, it delineates.
I often wonder if the choice between left and right is an argument over how to manage a world that most would admit in their saner, more sober moments must pass away. At its best it’s like there are two deckhands arguing over the placement of the deck furniture on the Titanic while the ship is sinking.
We need to spend less time arguing, accusing, and denigrating and more time collaborating, forgiving, and appreciating, but we cannot wait until the other “side” lowers its weapon. We need to be less concerned about winning and more concerned about actually solving the problems at hand, together.
Only truth can set you, can set us, free.
