Propensities and Principles

“Propensities and principles must be reconciled by some means.” ― Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre

When propensities and principles fail to align, self-righteousness supplants righteousness. Moreover, passive aggression tends to replace assertiveness in the cause of truth. A house divided in this sense requires compromise, and that compromise typically leads to a loss of integrity.

  1. I find it useful to recognize the propensities that typically occur in people including myself that would bring about a house divided. As I turn to open to my highest sensings there comes a relaxation of the angst to try to reconcile that which cannot be reconciled. Opening up and agreeing with what is aligned with the foundation of my being does bring peace and perspective. Thank you for this consideration serving to know more fully the beauty of being unified inside and out.
