Radiant Living

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.” – Robert Louis Stevenson

Living radiantly is a simple matter, really. It involves caring more about the nature and quality of your sowing than you do about that which is coming to you as a harvest. Moreover, living radiantly involves seeing the harvest as a means to an end, rather than an end itself.

Every harvest – good, bad, or indifferent – provides you with more opportunities to plant seeds that will germinate a brighter, more abundant future.

There are times that involve predominantly sowing and others where reaping is uppermost, but in another sense we are always sowing and always reaping. Those with vision are always mindful that the essences of the future are contained in the sowing of the present – either essences that repeat the tedious and destructive harvests of the past or those that set the pattern, regardless of present harvest, for brightness and creative achievement in the future.

It’s true, our lives are a series of choices. I’ve heard it said that most people sow what they think makes them happy for the moment and then spend the majority of their lives praying for crop failure.
