Momentary Life, a poem by Gregg Hake
Momentary life,
Inquietudes at every gate﹣
Implore, entice, like sirens
Whose seductive charm
Gives no quarter.
Must we load ourselves with more?

To simply meet the moments of my living in a spirit of integrity brings balance and an experience true to the character of life. It is such a value to know my choice in the matter.

Funny how distractions can turn unto commitments and eventually you may realize you’re overloaded.

Navigate the drama of a wounded, deceptive and damaged world we must. Lose the serenity of an understanding heart we must not!

I think that many people search out the inquietudes, to make a momentary life seem even more momentary, because they are not doing anything with their lives to begin with. This is bittersweet to those that are actually achieving something in their lives, as even the life that is filled to the brim is still too short.

I enjoyed your poem very much. It inspires me to take a step back from a realm of addicting distractions and be available for something else a little more generative today (-:
