“Whatever satisfies the soul is truth.” – Walt Whitman
Truth is rather easy to recognize. When yielded to, truth is deeply satisfying. When resisted, it is an immovable object. Regarding a falsehood as truth palliates the discomfort of the unknown; acknowledging a truth a true liberates unconditionally.
Satisfaction relates to filling, and ultimately only the truth can fill and nourish. One can attempt to fill the hungers and thirsts of an empty state in so many ways, but always the deeper longings and restlessness alter and shape both motivation and action. Yielding to the truth, letting all other concerns recede, releasing the surface convictions of what will satisfy, we find the starting point for a wider pattern of satisfaction and fulfillment.
