He who is passionate about the truth cares not when he is shown to be in error. In fact, he views such elucidation as a gift of the gods, whether delivered at the hand of a friend or foe. Correction, whether kindly or harshly delivered, is best met with appreciation.

You can’t be for the truth and be afraid of the truth, and if the truth is you were wrong, you were wrong. The world would be a very different place if people were appreciative that their faults were pointed out so they could correct them, rather than being embarrassed and attempting to cover them up. Whenever you feel shame for something, realize that somehow the truth is being covered up rather than revealed.

This is crucial if we are to increase in our ability to hit the mark. A look at the other side is a good idea too. Think carefully when offering correction as to the best way to do it. Ask yourself how can I offer this so it is more likely to be received. That said, both the receiving and the giving will always be occurring as we refine our hearts, thoughts and habits.
