She sat upon a wooden bench
On the shores of Lake Lucerne.
Her thoughts like yon mountain peaks
Peaked high above the veil of clouds.
Bathed in sunlight pouring from the heavens
And free of the turbulent waters tumbling
Through hearts of men in the valley far below;
She was resting in peace, without leaving.
Some say it is the place, others the person,
But peace can be known wherever you are,
Whomever you’re with and whenever you’d like,
For it is a feeling resolve, rooted in love.
Peace is something that is separate from circumstance. It involves feeling, but is above feeling. I think that describing it as “a feeling resolve, rooted in love” really gets at the nature of peace. There is no peace without love, as peace is one of the evidences that love is being allowed a place in you and an outlet through you.

O’ Peace of heavens slight
Rid us of this terrible blight
Bring thy courageous powerful poise
The stance that rids, all the noise.
Contagious is thy loving hand
Rids resentment from this land
That brothers and sisters might share this night
And lovers may befriend, no quarrels in sight
Hewn high above, descendant love shone round
Restoring friend and foe on sacred ground
So take up love at first sight
That you too might know it’s powerful might!

What a rich and vivid expression of love. Peace is one of the gifts that is bestowed on the giver of love, as we agree to let it flow through our hearts. I believe peace is never withheld; it’s a natural revelation of the majesty of love. Beautiful!
