The Ledger of your Living

Are heaven and earth, god and man asymptotes? Or do they blend at some point, as night melds with day at dawn and dusk?

To be sure, those who dare to reply that the two can and should be unified in purpose and design tend to be mocked, contested and if necessary, crucified by those who would rather not admit to the possibility of such a union.

But what of your life?

Does the evidence of your living give weight to the argument that the two are in fact one or does it deny such a possibility and support the belief that never the twain shall meet?

Every word you speak, every action you take corroborates one side of the ledger or the other.

I’ve found that like magnets, there are forces that draw you to either side. That’s from the terrestrial point of view of our lives. These are forces which act on our awareness and our consciousness. From the point of view of our higher nature, there is clearly but one force if you can think it all the way through.

In thinking of my own life and sense of purpose, I’d have to say that it is set in the struggle for science to regain its humanitarian values. These values originate in the benevolent attitudes of genuine curiosity and service to mankind. The harsh conditions of the world today have shaped science to become authoritarian and its outlook has become in kind, harsh and exclusive. Once again a dichotomy, but only from a limited point of view.

My aim in my life is to help bring the balance back to this particular ledger. It appears obvious that this can only happen as my personal state of being lies in the balance first and it is really quite the thrill to live for such a purpose, because the whole concern becomes to unite rather than to marginalize and thus there is so much more that is saved and restored this way – a much greater efficiency is brought into the world’s affairs.

Heaven and Earth are only asymptotes to the degree that our every word and deed are not up to the standard that they should be.
The world community’s actions affect every individual, but that does not give us an excuse to lower our bar, because the reverse is also true. Heaven and Earth will only co-mingle to the extent that human beings are willing to live a life that is up to Heaven’s standards.
I realize that it is up to me to control my actions. I am the only one who determines what I do and say, and if I want to raise my bar higher than it has ever been that is firmly within my power.

With that in mind I live my life. I realize what I allow to reside in my heart and comes out of my mouth is constantly declaring if I’m actually successful in this. I’ve come to understand that circumstances aren’t a direct reflection of my success in this but how I handle them is. The deepest desire of mankind in accord with this is not to be loved and appreciated but to love and appreciate. I know from my experience that heaven and earth are undivided the instant that I release the death grip of judgement and fear. I appreciate your post.
