Self-doubt is far more likely the cause of your failure to reveal you inner greatness than any outer impediment. So why, then would you waste even a moment cataloging your woes or blaming others for your failure to out the greatness within?
You have all that you need to be who you are, here and now. You just have to come to the point where you believe in yourself.

Our sales organization is in the midst of interviewing right now in the hopes of finding a couple of really fine people to add to it. As we go through this process we will interview a number of people who are looking for the perfect opportunity, the golden opportunity if you will, thinking that that is what will assure them finally becoming successful in their lives.
We will choose those who recognize that the opportunity is actually simply a vehicle, and that their job is to learn how to drive it the best way that they possibly can. In other words, the level of success is not dependent on the vehicle, (in this case our company) but instead is dependent upon their level of desire to, perhaps finally, discover the greatness that resides within themselves. Our job is to assist and encourage them to discover the greatness about them that perhaps they have never discovered for themselves, and when that happens they will likely we assured of having a fabulous career with us.
We have learned that we all have that inner greatness; perhaps as we encourage others to discover theirs ours becomes more apparent to us as well.

We also tend to be immobilized by the self-doubts others may have about us. At some point in your life, you have to realize that you can be great, regardless of those around you. However, it starts with you, and your willingness to believe in yourself and that is the main point.

I’ve often wondered why most will look at ourselves and see our failures in capital letters and our successes in fine print. Even some of the most wildly successful people remain tortured by failures they’ve had. I think as the poem outlines we know their is greatness in ourselves that we haven’t realized. Could it be the greatness we sense has little to do with the areas we want it translated in? They seem two different junctures yet the first may shape the second. A character that is fully developed has the ability to accomplish so much more because many of the obsticles we face originate with us. Think about the difference more patience, focus, wisdom, understanding, courage or kindness can create. Think about what rabbit holes that jealously, envy or comparison can take you down. I think there is success for each but we first must be the equipment that it requires to be revealed. I think it’s more natural to believe in yourself when you let your whole self have reign.

Your mind will take you out far before you reach your real limits, if you let it. It is the same with losing heart. I am sure that there are different ways to break the disheartened feeling, but for me I find that just doing something, anything, that will in some way either help another person. That seems to usually do it for me, and as you are able to successfully do this you start to realize that being disheartened doesn’t mean anything, really, and that you can keep going regardless of how you feel.
