If ’twas true He came to forgive
Then why did we not let him live?

Man could not reach and thus disclaimed
His passion for the prize

With sour grapes and sweet lemons.

This is a fundamental cognitive dissonance that permeates almost every facet of the western world. We say that we love something and would do anything for it, but when the reality of that thing does not match our fantasy of expectation, denial and destruction is the result.
There must be those that are willing to abolish this discord. There must be those that will follow the truth all the way to the end, no matter whether it matches our expectations or not, and we must do so with a light heart.

For the gift that was given and never taken away.
He knows me by name and reminds me every day,
to love, let go, and give in every way.

Your words do bring to remembrance the sad truth. In so remembering there is something of light and forgiveness known. The more this is acknowledged there is an ever expanding awareness of how much we have been forgiven and gifted with life to so provide for our worlds. Your words lay bare a dark reality that cannot be displaced by glitter and artificial light. Of course there has always been a dark side to the Christmas season, because mankind has never come to terms with the truth related to what is commemorated. Let us look without prejudice at these facts, that repentance may clear away the debris to reveal a clear and honest starting point. Bless you!
