A Class Act

Class is an aura of confidence that is being sure without being cocky. Class has nothing to do with money. Class never runs scared. It is self-discipline and self-knowledge. It’s the sure-footedness that comes with having proved you can meet life.” – Ann Landers

Class is no respecter of financial means or social standing, in fact, it is an independent quality of expression available to each and every person on earth. It is a commitment to excellence, refinement and radiance, a willingness to maintain integrity even if it means standing out while others compromise to blend in.

Those clad in class are never over or underdressed. Those swathed in class are less concerned about what is coming in – what they’re eating, hearing, seeing, etc. – than they are meticulous about what is going out – their words, actions, responses to the world around them. The hearts of those arrayed with class are undisturbed by crassness, free of conflict regarding temptation and ever yielded to the impulse of love.

In other words, class manifests wherever there is mastery over life, rather than subjection to its vicissitudes. It is the evidence of the union of higher self and outer consciousness.

This is a great description of class. Class is not something that is available only to those who were born into a certain social “status”, but is something that is available to everyone. Maybe the path to class was demonstrated by family or a mentor, maybe not, but it is up to each individual to either show class or show something less. It is a habit that is build just like any other.

Yes! Being in the right place at the right time, always.
Such centering, comes from asking oneself, regularly… “Why this subject in this setting with these people at this time?” Followed by….
“How can my perspective and expression encourage and uplift?”
Thanks for bringing this to focus, now for proving it out, consistently.

I’ve always considered someone with class to be uniquely aware of those with whom they are interacting. Their confidence in themselves allows for a focus outside of themselves. There is an overarching graciousness that comes with someone freed from constant self concern. This post was wonderful, thank you!

What a great way to look at what is meant by having class, that air of refined mannerisms that is a true sign of nobility. Nobility earned that is and you put it quite well I must say, where the classy individual takes great care of his expression, how he influences the world, and puts far greater weight in that compared to what he absorbs and takes from the world.
It appears to me that all the hallmarks of a fantastic life come to you as you become invested in generative living and being strongly concerned to enhance the lives of as many living beings as you can. That’s what it means to get caught up in the spirit of life, as all of your own cares are met in the process too, and then some!
