If the kingdom of heaven, that is, all that is wonderful, true, valuable and right is truly at hand, what is preventing us from experiencing it? We seem to have become quite proficient at manifesting hell on earth, but what of our ability to bring heaven on earth?
I can think of no greater impediment to the creation of a better world than judgment. E.B. White put it best when he said that: “The world is full of people who have never, since childhood, met an open doorway with an open mind.” Make no mistake: every single circumstance you will ever face is an open door, whether you recognize it to be as such or not.
If a fresh creative impulse pulse is given form through a prism of stale opinions, jaded prejudices and snap judgments, its expression will be muted and its impact will be lost. Judgment, whether preexisting or recently hatched, is hell’s megaphone. It is the portal through which hell and all things unfitting are given voice and form on earth.
Whenever a fresh creative impulse is met with an open mind and an open heart, however, anything and everything can be made new. You are not called to a life of struggle and toil, rather, you have the opportunity to let life express through you in a manner consistent with its inherent design.
Newness is the the essence of life. It is not hard to live a life characterized by newness when you realize this simple yet powerful truth. Before you is an open doorway; receive it with a thankful heart and an open mind and you will recognize the immediacy of all things great and true.
There are so many things in life that are made unavailable to those who partake in judgement. It kills the sensitivity that is required to really enjoy life, and creates a cycle of self-fulfilling failure and misery. The alternative is much nicer, but it takes dedication to break the habit of judgement as it does any habit.
If you want to live a life of misery that path is available, but every time judgement is chosen over an open mind and an open heart, we are all diminished.

Doors may open and close in circumstance, in relationships, in so many ways, but Heaven’s Gate is always open unless we slam it shut with judgment, rigid opinion and bitter self-concern. We ARE that Gate, and to remember that is surely the greatest need!

Understanding and living just this one point will change your life forever. I don’t think I/we realize how often we shut the door to opportunities through our judgement of other people and the circumstances that we or they are in. Great reminder this morning, thank you!

Wow! What a wake up call this morning. I can see so many times where simply being conscious of my own door being open or shut could make or break the creative potential of the situation.

I appreciate your invitation. The only way I know to give myself a fresh start is through repentance and forgiveness. With a new start and a heart that is vigilant to be thankful judgement feels like a the foreign object; it’s piercing pain is felt when it is still a sliver. This is becoming a habit for me and judgement is not my first thought. The open door is waiting in the next moment and regardless of our circumstances it can be the passageway to freedom from the heavy burden that comes with being a stooge for hell.

An open mind and a thankful heart declares the reality of not needing what today you don’t have, tossing the evils of judgement and its comparing cousins into a terminal wastebasket.
