“It is not often that a man can make opportunities for himself. But he can put himself in such shape that when or if the opportunities come he is ready.” – Theodore Roosevelt
There are many ways to get yourself ready for unforeseen opportunities, but one of the most important relates to the state of your heart and mind.
If you are wrapped up in tension or obsessing about the limitations present in your circumstances, you’ll likely find yourself unprepared for that which is to come. If, however, you take the initiate to relax within your present state by recognizing that change is the one constant, you will be sufficiently at rest internally to receive the wisdom to seize the opportunity at hand.
To take full advantage of the opportunities which come knocking, you must be ready internally (mentally and emotionally) and externally (physically). All three are necessary.
If I may share my psalm verse for the day in light of your words:
“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not…”
