Disposition

“The greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.” ― Martha Washington

If you’re not happy with what you have, it is likely that you won’t be happy with what you’d like to have. Contentment is a state of mind and not the result of circumstance.

  1. So true.
Your posts at times stimulate me to look up the words you use with a curiosity to really know the meaning of them. As I do many times serrendipity results whereby I become aware of something least expected. In the case of disposition there was a archaic definition associated with this word besides: a person’s inherent qualities of mind and character. The archaic definition of disposition was given as “determinate of events, especially by divine power. ” Makes me think on what is arranged on earth by that which is above the level of man’s consciousness. That divine power is happy and cognizant with what is at hand for its expression on earth.
