“Born”, a poem by Gregg Hake
Born to sing with angels,
To dance among the stars;
Born to be a blessing,
To people near and far;
Born to rise above when
Life would have you down;
Born to live without sin:
Born to wear a crown.

Your poem is a beautiful reminder of why we are here on earth. It could be read every day to remind us of our purpose.
I read a quote recently that articulates my thoughts on your poems and haikus: “..poetry is the unexpected utterance of the soul. It is where the soul touches the everyday. It is less about the words and more about the awakening of the sense of aliveness we carry within us from birth.” It always feels like we’re part of your experience in that you share your innermost thoughts. It reminds me of times when I’ve had the same experience. Sometimes we get so busy that we don’t drink in the moments and they pass us by. The sense of aliveness erodes. I love your reminders of how special life can be when we are fully concerned what really matters.

Born to joyfully receive,
Unto love we so cleave.
Lifting up our heads
As our crown
Shines all around.
Born to be one in love’s sound,
Our life beyond bound.
