“Reverie”, a poem by Gregg Hake
I was caught in a deep reverie
At the time of day
When only the east-facing bark
Is lit up by the far-reaching
Tongue of the sun.
The yawning earth
Slowly opened her eyes
And stretched from peak to vale;
Shivering against the frost
My thoughts marched onward
Toward the rising sun
Seeking illumination, warmth
Beyond the chilly unknown
Your words are a joy to consider and to live. Thank you.
