“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.” – Mother Theresa
When you are righteous you need not be concerned with results. You think what you think, say what you say and do what you do because it is the right thing to do. How righteous and true expression is received is absolutely beside the point.
If it is yielded to and embraced, so be it. If it is ignored, so be it. If it is rejected passively or actively, so be it. More important than how it was received is that it was freely given through you.
If you do this – give your best without fretting about how it was received – you have done your part. And remember: “It was never between you and them anyway.”
When you do the righteous thing without worrying about anything but the doing, there are results that are untouchable by anyone else. Those are the results that matter, not how anyone else receives what you do.

Vision and perspective, received, thanks!
So often when rejection be the case, the tendency is to take it personally and well…so long as we did our best, for the right reason, it wasn’t between us and them anyways.
If there is a way, God will find it, show up and do your part, slowly but SURELY, the way will open. Our greatest part is being prepared when it does!
Thanks for starting this day from on high!

This poem was part of my husbands memorial service so it is dear to my heart. How vital that our lives are lived to not please man, but to please God. Thank you Gregg.

This reminds me of one of my favorite bumper stickers, “what am I doing on Earth for Heavens sake?”

Perspective changes everything. This is one that should be offered from childhood. Next time I’m start to think about, “What will …….think?”, I’ll fill in the right word, God. Thanks, Gregg.
