The whole point of developing character, developing skills and gaining competency in the affairs of the world is to allow for the unveiling of your soul. Your soul longs for expression, not for selfish purposes, but to extend its influence from the invisible realms into the visible world with which we have grown so familiar.
Most would have you believe that the acquisition of skills and knowledge is a means of leveraging your ability to get, but I say to you that the sole purpose of the refinement of your outer capacities of body, mind and heart is to augment your ability to give. If you have this backward, you will eventually suffer from over-consumptive malnutrition, physically, mentally and spiritually.
If, however, you get this right, your life will be characterized by blessing. When you get this right, what is below shall be as above and all obscurity shall fly from you. Double-mindedness shall be replaced by a single eye and your whole body shall be filled with light.
That light, the evidence of the presence of the wonderful soul within you, will illumine all within your sphere of influence. Those it reaches will be dynamized and compelled thereby to respond in love and appreciation or to recoil in fear or rejection. Such is the effect of that light. Such is the “[blessed] influence of one true, loving human soul on another.”

I was thinking further that to truly love is to give a darn about something which really matters, consistently, day after day. Who cares about bad hair days, I know I don’t. There is so much positive that can come out of human energy that we do have to be blind or suffer from double vision to not realize this and get our act together. It’s really not as complicated as it’s been made out to be; stop being conflictive and instead devote your energy towards being a provider in all areas of your life where possible.

When you shift to this perspective, that our life force should be focused on bettering ourselves to be a more concentrated force of giving rather than bettering ourselves so we can live a life filled with acquisition for acquisition’s sake, you are removed from the storm tossed identity that comes when you identify with what you have instead of who you are. Bettering yourself to become a greater force of giving, however, fast tracks you down the path of being able to have a secure identity in who you are.
The question is: how great can you be? Not for yourself, but for what you serve.

To love another – what a monumental gift it is to care. To bestow a mere brushstroke of authentic nurture is to realize the nature and essence of life’s pulse. I don’t think you can know much of life if you can’t feel it’s pulse.

It is good to think of being a blessed influence to you, to each of us considering your posts and to all in our world. There is such an influence being generated that is expanding. It is good to choose to be part of it and live accordingly.

Our ability to be a blessing is truly the essence of why we exist in this world- a world so in need of blessing. Yes, blessings come from above, but they must flow through us and into the physical world to be of value to this world.

The reasoning it is more blessed to give then receive is another way of stating this principle. We are designed for the outward expression of blessing. To know fullfillment and satisfaction our equipment has to be used for what it was intended. Seems simple but we need each other! I think it’s important to realize if we are looking to please others and have everyone love and accept us this stance will not serve. It will repel those who have it in their heart to block from memory this most basic of truth.
