True Love

Love is the divinest element in the human. It is God’s finest gift to man. It is the most powerful factor for good in the whole world. Under its protecting wings nestle all the virtues. In marriage it means that two face life together, with each other, for each other, content with whatever life may bring if it leave them each other. It means letting the small world outside dwindle into insignificance while their larger world rises to the dignity of two who have become one. True love means all that is finest, most tender, most lasting, consecrated to union and unity for a lifetime. It comes to rich and poor alike, but it cannot be bought.” ~ William George Jordan

I don’t understand why so many are quick to admit that two people in love can conquer the world and yet almost impossible to convince that the entire body of humanity has the same opportunity and capacity for influence. If it is true in the case of two couldn’t it be the case with many?

The greater part of humanity has long been convinced that the forces of hate are on equal footing with the power of love. Some have gone so far as to believe that they are opposite sides of the same coin. Such a conviction places false limits on the sense of possibility and impairs the effectiveness of the individual in living.

How?

This belief divorces the individual from the very core of himself. It creates a division between who he really is and how he sees himself. Thus divided, he is weakened in all of his efforts.

Love is the only power there is. When this power is used correctly, its manifestation is what is commonly known as “love.” Human beings have the capacity to translate that power in either direction. It is for this reason that it was once written, “We have met the enemy and he is us.” It also explains why we, exactly as we are now configured, can open the door to a brighter future.

There is but one power and we – with a simple change of mind or heart – can be either man or beast.

The choice is ours.

The answer to all of humanities woes is love. Evil and it’s minions have taken love and distorted and diverted its power, yet in hijacking the power they also sew the seeds of their own disenfranchisement from love and its power.I believe its never too late to change but it maybe too late to alter what is in motion.

I suppose love has been misunderstood by many, this I can see. To each one there stands a gate where choices are made in behavior and action that provide or prohibit entrance, and later residence, in the halls of love. This I can see as well, and it’s one of those things that you can only know as you are knowing it. There can be no denial once love reigns supreme in the heart.
To all who believe in love and its power, ponder true love I gather, for this is the only place where indeed all beautiful, noble things are surely possible and we can once and for all leave behind the old ways of prejudice which can only lead to hurt.

If you really understand this, the world actually becomes a much simpler place. If love is the only power there is, and hate is not the opposite of love but merely the power of love mistranslated and misapplied, things like forgiveness suddenly take on a whole new meaning. For instance, truly forgiving someone is taking that power of love that was misapplied, and putting it back in its rightful place. The power that is love can be a subtle power or it can be a jackhammer, but don’t ever understimate it, because just as it can quickly change the nature of a single relationship, it can change the nature of every relationship.

That certainly takes the wind out of the sails of hate. I think if we truly realized this beyond just a conscious agreement that this makes sense, we could each change the world individually and together.

Love is the eternal power capable of changes I think might be hard for most to imagine. It would seem as imaginative children or adults who live in a dream world. I believe if we sincerely applied what we do know about how to love the rest would sort itself out. Love brings with it many equilizers such as patience and forgiveness.
If two can love than it can be magnified, great point!
