Pippa’s Song, by Robert Browning
The year ‘s at the spring,
And day ‘s at the morn;
Morning ‘s at seven;
The hill-side ‘s dew-pearl’d;
The lark ‘s on the wing;
The snail ‘s on the thorn;
God ‘s in His heaven—
All ‘s right with the world!
I love this little poem as it depicts the essence of tranquility. How often do you take time to appreciate and enjoy who you are, where you live, what you have, your friends and mentors? To know deep and stable inner peace you must regularly appreciate the world around you.
The contents of your world are ever-changing. It can be so easy to get caught up in what you are doing, where you are going, what you’d like to have or to achieve and consequently miss the beauty and wonder of what is immediately at hand. Life itself is richly textured, and there is hardly a square inch on earth that does not have something worthy of your appreciation.
There is no harm in taking a few moments to bask in the morning light, in fact, you might find that it sets the tone for the rest of your day. What is the sound of tranquility? It is the sound of ease, of grace, of poise and of encouragement. Let yourself relax into the arms of tranquility this morning, not in some disconnected, arbitrary or superficial way, but because your heart is at rest with the fact that in some ways still, “all’s right with the world.”
Move from that point and you will enjoy a fresh, new beginning each morning of every day.
A great way to start the day. Thanks, Gregg!

I realized after reading this what a phrenetic state of mind I was operating in this morning. There is so much value in understanding that more can be accomplished if your starting point moves out from a state of tranquility. Instead of forcing and overpowering people you will draw them towards you, if for no other reason than to share in your state of mind. Thanks for this helpful reminder to stop, appreciate, enjoy, and move from there. Aaah, what a relief!

What a perfect description for the perfect starting point to anything – a state of tranquility. I appreciate the simple reminder that if I don’t start there then I am missing the point, which isn’t a very effective point to start from!

Wonderful way to start the day!
A thought we can also re-start the day this way at any point we feel we have gotten caught up in what we are doing, etc.
