“A moral, sensible and well-bred man will not affront me, – and no other can.” ~ William Cowper
My wife was humming a tune yesterday that got me thinking. You’ve probably heard Elvis Presley sing Return to Sender and if you’re anything like me, you only recall one line from the song…”return to sender, address unknown.”
It occurred to me that this line would serve as an excellent reminder of what to do when anyone sends an affront your way. Don’t accept it. Don’t open it! Refuse to bite and more importantly, refrain from biting back!
“A gentleman will not insult me, and no man not a gentleman can insult me.” ~ Frederick Douglass
When you address your world, take great care to send blessing instead of cursing. Be courageous. Be a gentleman. Be a lady.
Have a wonderful weekend.
So simple, yet so profound!

I had a situation the other day where someone was trying to push my buttons. I remembered your blog and thought: “If I get mad, the I will lose whether or not I win the argument!” For once I remembered this before I said anything and not after! Thanks again.

Instead of developing a thick skin, a venomous reaction, or
a turtle like shell to retreat into, I can choose to take the
healthy road to a long lasting productive life which is
forgiveness. It takes deliberate practice. It’s not the popular
road but it is the one that is most always suggested to find
absolute freedom in your life.

There are many undesireable steps that follow the
acceptance of such a red herring. Usually accompanied by statements
such as AHA! because the sender was seeking an excuse to not assume
responsibility. Just don’t recieve it, save ourselves the heartache
associated with what come’s next and remain in position to be of
assistance to the sender, through not giving weight to the unreal
expression of Resentment! Thanks, Gregg Always good to be
forwarned,
